A Trip to the Nursery
Taking a stroll through the local nursery can seem like a trip to the candy store. There are so many beautiful trees to choose from. But it can also seem like a daunting task; which tree will thrive in my backyard? Its one thing to purchase a tree, quite another to install it and have it become a permanent fixture in the landscape. But long before you plant, you must make the most important decision ever that will affect the life of your tree; selecting the species that will best fit your landscape, while meeting your needs. The second most important decision is choosing a tree free of disease and structural defects. While a consulting arborist can best assist you in selection, this gallery provides some guidance (photos copyright Randy Cyr).
