Braving the Kudzu Jungle
While mistletoe can take over a tree, kudzu can take over a village. Would you believe there’s a house under all those vines? Though it may have escaped your attention, aliens have invaded the South. Because they’re able to blend with the locals, compete well in the market, and are rarely ID’d, the invasion goes on mostly unchecked. Squatters seem harmless until you try to evict them. The following samples should help you identify these foreign aggressors before they gain a foothold on your property. If you’ll grab a machete, bush ax and some mosquito repellent, we’ll start hacking our way through this jungle (photos copyright Randy Cyr).
